Stonnie Dennis operates his dog kennel with a Montessori approach – a learning-by-doing modality. He believes there’s a direct correlation between good behavior and meeting the daily minimum of your specific dog's mental and physical requirements.
“The majority of unwanted behaviors are due to a lack of adequate exercise,” Stonnie proclaims, in some fashion or another in his hundreds of YouTube videos, “A tired dog is a good dog.”
However, although his kennel and his approach to training are indubitably top-notch, his ability to translate those techniques to humans separates him from the pack. And on the off chance his direct translation wasn’t clear, he’ll fill the void with a sharp, well-suited anecdote, solidifying his point.
“If you’re doing the right thing, you can’t be doing the wrong thing.”
If Dirt had enough exercise for the day, the probability of him tearing up a toilet paper roll is far less likely. When he doesn’t tear up toilet paper, I don’t have to fuss at him. Therefore, we’ve totally avoided a negative interaction altogether.
When we fill our time with beneficial tasks, tasks we can control, we eliminate the chance of something entering our lives we can’t control.
Life is simple, it’s our desires that make it complex.
This week, just keep things simple.
